“At the crossroads of life, the scarecrow watches the world with eyes both patient and protesting, aware of the paradox of its own being – tethered in humanity and brother to the wind.”

Duncan Regehr : Scarecrow

October 21st – November 4th

In this solo exhibition, Regehr presents us with a collection of never before displayed drawings from the series Corvus Rex, along with accompanying haiku.

Join us at Petley Jones Gallery to explore the line of verse and pencil for this multidisciplinary experience where painting, drawing and verse come together to invite the viewer into a world of both shadow and truth.

“Duncan Regehr’s line flows seamlessly between word and drawing.” -Anne V. Coates-

“Resonant and allusive, Duncan Regehr’s work arrests you mid-step… He has found a way to represent both the “real” world and that which is seen in the mind. The hidden landscape emerges – complete in geology, architecture and history, as an image takes shape from “invisible” writing. The opposition of Crow and Scarecrow is endlessly thought provoking – the cutting edge of modern art, in the great tradition.” –John Rhys-Davies, review of Scarecrow : Poems & Drawings-
