COVID-19 | Gallery Closure

COVID-19 | Gallery Closure

To all the members of our community

This is an uncertain time.

Like you, we are concerned about the health and well-being of our friends and families, neighbours and colleagues in regards to the spread of COVID-19. With this in mind and in accordance with government recommendations, we are temporarily closing our gallery store front.

It is our intention to carry out business:

  • remotely at petleyjones.com
  • by email at info@petleyjones.com
  • by phone (604)732-5353 or
  • Matt Petley-Jones directly at (604)644-4245

Matt will continue to be available for consultations on sales, appraisals, restoration and framing by appointment. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if we can be of assistance.

For all deliveries please call: Matt (604) 644-4245

We are all finding new ways to express social solidarity. As we are conscious, now more than ever, that global crises require us to think and imagine new ways of being in the world together.

Across the country, galleries and museums are closed, or closing temporarily, but there are still so many other ways we may find ourselves in art. The collective creativity of our online world is astonishing, and artworks of all kinds can be experienced while we are resting and healing during this period. Art is a fundamental part of humanity, carrying within itself the entirety of human history.

Let’s use this moment to find and build new social networks of care, and to remind ourselves of the critical role artists play in our society. Artists help us capture and express life, both the joys and challenges.  Therefore, we would like to continue bringing the inspiration straight to you, by regular website updates with art news and virtual exhibits, of old and new pieces that come our way during this self-isolation period. Our intention is to bring some light into your day and create conversation amongst our online community. As always, if you find any piece of interest, we remain available via email and the phone. All purchased art can be shipped.

Virtual Exhibits

Our first Virtual Exhibit will be with a GRAND reveal: for the first time in his career, Matt Petley-Jones delves into the world of watercolour painting – vibrantly filled with his recognizable vigor, and unapologetic joie de vivre.

These exhibits will continue to feature a selection of the newest, largest and most vibrantly provocative works by our talented local artistsThe true spirit of our gallery comes from our family of artists, who make a living by selling their works and, now more than ever, they need our community support.

We wish you all the very best in this quiet time. If you feel a desire to enjoy art from the comfort of your home, we will be updating our website, Facebook, and Instagram regularly with new pieces, Virtual Exhibitions, and art stories for the duration of this quiet period. And if you’re spending more time reading these days, you can stay connected with us by subscribing to our mailing list below.
