Historic Canadian Art: Timeless Canadian Painting
Petley Jones Gallery brings together the works of Group of Seven members, Beaver Hall artists, and notable West Coast icons in this exhibit of Historic Canadian Painting.
Natural aspects of our county are depicted in this exhibition by Group of Seven members, A.Y. Jackson, Frank Carmichael, A. J. Casson and Edwin Holgate.
Timeless rolling landscapes by Canada’s most influential painters are contrasted by the bold abstracted work of Paul Fournier, Jack Shadbolt, and Toni Onley.
Historic Canadian painting resonates with the powerful images of nationhood. Join us between May 12 – June 1st, 2022 to see the exhibit in person.
"A landscape clean and crisp in form and colour, rich in inspiration is all that an artist could wish for, begging to be used, and full of inherent possibilities."
