Contemporary Exhibit: January 6th – 22nd

Usher in the New Year by adorning your life with Contemporary artwork. Together we celebrate the creative energy of our contemporaries, bringing you new art for the New Year.

Cherishing to their power to revitalize and refresh, we prepare for whatever 2022 brings us.

Dana Dion

Demanding our attention is artist, Dana Dion, whose artwork captures the essence of a landscape through abstraction. The movements, sounds and fragrance of the land are for Dion, essential elements she records in her landscapes.

The artist’s painting is meditative, as she travels into another world. An expert on travel, Dion was born in Tel Aviv, since relocating to several new continents, including Europe, North America, and currently, Australia.

John Horton (C.S.M.A., F.C.A.)

Perfectionist and Marine artist, John Horton, is known for his insistence on historically accurate detail. His detailed work includes shore features precise to their era, be it present-day or previous century. Each brushstroke tells the story of the vessel, the season, and even the temperature.

Travelling the local waters in his studio, Horton explored British Columbia for years in a converted 35-foot fishing boat, becoming a familiar sight on the water.

Michael Hermesh

Proving true in the pandemic, Michael Hermesh notes that “our interaction with the real world depends more on our own creation of what is there than what can be measured externally.” Hermesh supposes that the glue holding our world together is narrative; the inner model for reality that we created becomes more real than anything measurable.

The exhibition also boasts artwork by Thomas Anfield, whose solo exhibition with the gallery was completed on December 2nd, 2021. We are open Tues – Sat, 10 AM – 6 PM.

Personal appointments can be made to see the artwork in private, as a COVID-19 precaution for our valued patrons.
