Restoration Before and After

Oil and Acrylic Paintings

Surface Cleaning: Depending on where a painting is kept, it may be necessary to remove particulate such as tobacco smoke, soot, grease, dust, and other contaminants in the air that slowly collect on the paintings’ surface. These can be safely removed to reveal the original vibrancy of the piece.

Varnish Removal/Re-Varnish: Over time, varnish will naturally darken and yellow. This layer can be removed with the appropriate chemical preparations, and then redone to help conserve the piece. This will return paintings to their original state of brilliance that the artist had initially intended.

Re-Lining: A lining process may be required if the support is unstable. Damaged paint, tears or punctures can be repaired, stabilizing the painting for further treatment.

Frame Restoration

Have an antique frame with damage?

We encourage you to keep and restore original or antique frames whenever possible. Cleaning, paint removal, structural and ornament repair, casting, gilding and refinishing are all services that we provide.

Works on Paper

Watercolour, drawing, prints – damaged works on paper is another area of restoration that we work in.
